Open Weekend – 11/12 Nov 2023

Ashford Model Railway Club presents its 2023 Open Weekend:

Attractions include:

  • Preview of “Millfield” – our new OO Guage layout.
  • Member layouts.
  • Demonstration table.
  • Teas, coffees, sandwiches, and cakes on sale.

Parking is in the Windmill car park, just off Cornes Close (off Lees Road).

2024 Exhibition!

Thanks to all of you who came along to our 2023 exhibition last weekend – we hope that you enjoyed it.

We have now set the dates for for next year’s exhibition as 10th/11th February 2024 – we hope to see you there.

Only a few weeks to go!

As things stand today, there will be 15 layouts, from N gauge to G gauge, at least 8 trade stands, a couple of railway preservation societies and refreshments (full list of layouts here).

*Ashford 180 wristbands are available at these venues and are required for entry, including use of the classic bus service linking the Gateway to the Swan Centre.

ASHFORD 180 – 19/20 November 2022

AMRC will be participating in the Ashford 180 celebrations on the 19th and 20th November 2022 by holding a model railway exhibition at the Swan Centre in South Willesborough.

The Swan Centre is located in Turner Close, Willesborough, Ashford TN24 0PQ. A coach service (included in wristband price) will run between venues.

AMRC At Weald of Kent Steam Rally – 6 & 7 August

Ashford Model Railway Club will be at The Weald of Kent Steam Rally on the weekend of 6th & 7th August 2022. We intend to have a display of small layouts to illustrate how to enjoy railway modelling where space is at a premium. Our members will be on hand to explain how these models are created and about The Club and its activities. 

We will be joined by our friends from AIMREC who will have the up to date information about the Ashford 180 weekend celebration in November with exhibitions and railway related events across the town. 

The rally is to be held, as usual, at Little Engeham Farm, Woodchurch and further Information is available from www.wealdofkentsteamrally.co.uk

2022 Exhibition – Cancelled

Due to the ongoing uncertainty the club has regretfully cancelled the 2022 exhibition scheduled for February.

The club will be exploring possibilities for later in the year so do watch this space.
