The layout was built with the intention of being quick and easy to assemble and provide a ‘test track’ for club members to run any stock they have in our clubroom. However, through time, scenery was put on the layout and it became an exhibition-standard layout. The layout is not designed to represent any region or era. There are two lines in each direction crossing each other twice in a ‘figure-of-eight’ design. Some of the scenic delights include a farm, canal, basin, boat workshops and loco servicing area. There is also a factory area and a small parcels yard at one end of the layout. A recent addition is a fully automated shuttle branch line.
